The excitement of starting daycare marks a key moment for both children and parents. As the 2025-2026 school year draws near, it is crucial to secure your child's spot on the waitlist. In this guide, you’ll find everything you need to know about the enrollment process, the benefits of early education, and the opportunities that await your child.

Why daycare Matters

Daycare plays a vital role in a child’s early development, providing a foundation for lifelong learning, socialization, and emotional growth. In a nurturing and stimulating environment, children are given opportunities to explore, create, and interact with their peers—developing key social skills like sharing, cooperation, and communication. Early education through structured play, guided activities, and supportive routines helps foster cognitive development, curiosity, and a love for learning from a young age. Beyond academics, daycare also offers a sense of security and consistency, which is essential for building confidence and independence. These early experiences lay the groundwork for future success, both in school and in life.

The Enrollment Process

Enrollment for the fall 2025 waitlist has officially opened, making early action important. Enrollment opportunities are first offered to our current families, giving them priority for any available or upgraded spots. After that, openings are extended to families on our online waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on program availability and age group spaces. This process ensures fairness while supporting both our existing families and those eager to join our daycare community.

  5. Schedule a Visit: Once your required paperwork is submitted and your deposit is paid your spot is confirmed! Before the agreeded upon start date schedule a visit where you and your child can come expolor the space and get to know the other children and staff

Following these steps ensures a smooth enrolment process and helps prepare your child for their developmental journey.

The Benefits of Early Education

Enrolling in daycare brings a host of advantages beyond academic preparation. A nurturing early education environment supports personal and emotional development.

Social Skills Development

In daycare, children participate in group activities that enhance teamwork and communication. For example, they may engage in cooperative games that teach sharing and respect. These experiences lay the groundwork for healthy friendships and successful interactions later in life.

Cognitive Growth

Effective staff use creative teaching methods to keep learning fun. For instance, incorporating games that teach numbers and letters can be much more engaging than traditional methods. A study found that 88% of children exhibit increased enthusiasm for learning when it involves play.

Boosting Confidence

Daycare fosters independence and self-confidence. Children learn to make choices and partake in hands-on projects, which empowers them to take initiative. As they accomplish tasks, their confidence grows, better preparing them for future challenges.

Preparing for a Smooth Transition

Starting daycare can be a big change. Here are some tips to help your child adjust smoothly.

1. Talk About It Together Begin talking to your child about daycare ahead of time. Share what their day might look like—playing with new friends, fun activities, outdoor time, and seeing friendly caregivers. Keep the conversation positive and reassuring.

2. Visit Before the First Day: If possible, schedule a short visit to the daycare with your child before their official start. This helps familiarize them with the space, caregivers, and routines, making the first full day feel more comfortable.

3. Practice Separations: Start with short periods of separation at home or with trusted family/friends. This helps your child build confidence in knowing that you always come back.

4. Create a Goodbye Ritual: Establish a simple, consistent goodbye routine—whether it’s a special hug, a high-five, or a phrase like “See you later, alligator!” This predictability provides comfort and makes goodbyes easier for both of you.

5. Bring a Comfort Item: If allowed, pack a favourite stuffed animal, blanket, or family photo. Familiar items can provide a sense of security and comfort during the day.

6. Stay Calm and Positive: Children take cues from their parents. Even if you’re feeling emotional, try to keep your tone upbeat and confident during drop-offs. This helps your child feel reassured.

7. Allow Time for Adjustment: Every child adjusts at their own pace. It’s normal for there to be some tears at first, but trust that they will settle in and form bonds with caregivers and new friends. Stay patient and consistent.

8. Communicate with Caregivers: Share helpful details about your child’s routines, likes, dislikes, and comfort needs. Stay connected with the daycare team and feel free to ask for updates—it helps build trust and eases your mind!

9. Celebrate Milestones: Acknowledge and celebrate small wins—whether it’s a tear-free goodbye or hearing about a fun activity your child enjoyed. These moments build excitement and confidence in the new routine.

10. Be Kind to Yourself: Transitions are big for parents too! It’s okay to feel emotional. Know that you’re giving your child a wonderful opportunity to grow, learn, and build new relationships.
